Resume keywords for a Product Manager
Product postings screen for evidence of judgement under constraint, expressed through a vocabulary of artefacts โ roadmap, discovery, prioritisation, metrics. The failure mode is a resume that describes shipping features without ever saying why those features and not others.

Check your resume against a real posting
A checklist tells you what the market asks for. Paste an actual job description and your resume to see which of these terms you are already covering and which you are not โ free, and the resume never leaves your browser.
Run the checkHow to evidence these on the page
- Every headline bullet should carry a metric that moved. Product is judged on outcomes, and a resume without numbers reads as a project manager's.
- Show the decision, not just the delivery: what you cut, and what evidence made you cut it. That is the whole job.
- State the size of what you owned โ users, revenue, engineers supported. "Owned onboarding for 400k monthly users across a team of six" locates you instantly.
- SQL is increasingly screened for in PM postings. If you can pull your own data, say so explicitly.
What gets these resumes rejected
- Listing shipped features as a changelog, with no indication that any of them mattered.
- Claiming ownership of company-level metrics no single PM could move, which invites a sceptical interview.
A caution about keyword stuffing
Every term above is worth including only if it is true of you. Padding a resume with unearned keywords gets you into interviews you then fail, which is worse than not being shortlisted. Use this as a prompt to surface experience you already have and forgot to write down โ not as a list to copy.
