Resume keywords for a Business Analyst
Business analyst is one of the most keyword-sensitive titles there is, because the role means different things at different companies โ process documentation at one, SQL and dashboards at another, and requirements-gathering for engineering at a third. Match the posting's vocabulary closely; generic BA language matches nothing well.

Check your resume against a real posting
A checklist tells you what the market asks for. Paste an actual job description and your resume to see which of these terms you are already covering and which you are not โ free, and the resume never leaves your browser.
Run the checkHow to evidence these on the page
- Quantify process work by time or money: hours removed per cycle, error rate before and after, headcount freed. Process improvement without a number is invisible.
- Name the systems you analysed โ SAP, Salesforce, an internal ERP. Domain systems are heavily screened.
- State who your stakeholders were and how many. "Ran requirements workshops with 14 stakeholders across three departments" evidences the soft skill concretely.
- If you led UAT, say UAT. The acronym is screened for directly.
What gets these resumes rejected
- Using one generic BA resume for technical and process postings, matching neither well.
- Describing documents produced rather than decisions enabled.
A caution about keyword stuffing
Every term above is worth including only if it is true of you. Padding a resume with unearned keywords gets you into interviews you then fail, which is worse than not being shortlisted. Use this as a prompt to surface experience you already have and forgot to write down โ not as a list to copy.
